Carrot, Turmeric, and Ginger Smoothie

Packed full of vitamin C, beta-carotene, and the immune and nervous system healing properties of turmeric and ginger, this smoothie is a great option for getting your day started off right! To up the creaminess factor on this smoothie, add another ½ frozen banana or a splash of coconut milk.

Ingredients 

  • 1 small orange
  • 1 carrot chopped
  • ½ banana frozen
  • ½ cup frozen mango or ½ fresh mango cubed
  • ½ cup coconut water
  • teaspoon grated turmeric or ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger or ¼ teaspoon ground ginger powder
  • pinch of cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 tablespoon shelled hemp seeds or chia seeds optional
  • ½ cup ice

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients except ice in a blender, and blend until well combined. Add ice and continue to blend until smooth. Serve cold.
