Carrot, Turmeric, and Ginger Smoothie
Packed full of vitamin C, beta-carotene, and the immune and nervous system healing properties of turmeric and ginger, this smoothie is a great option for getting your day started off right! To up the creaminess factor on this smoothie, add another ½ frozen banana or a splash of coconut milk.
Ingredients
- 1 small orange
- 1 carrot chopped
- ½ banana frozen
- ½ cup frozen mango or ½ fresh mango cubed
- ½ cup coconut water
- 1½ teaspoon grated turmeric or ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger or ¼ teaspoon ground ginger powder
- pinch of cayenne pepper optional
- 1 tablespoon shelled hemp seeds or chia seeds optional
- ½ cup ice
Instructions
- Place all ingredients except ice in a blender, and blend until well combined. Add ice and continue to blend until smooth. Serve cold.
